warm weather and thick air,
curly locks and thick hair,
a head full of clouds,
walking through a world so loud without ever hearing a sound,
surrounded by faces,
but in the daily grind we become complacent,
bitter and jaded,
lock your worries down in the basement,
trading oxygen for nicotine,
trading water for coffee and tea,
with a brain lit up like fireworks,
smiling at every single store clerk,
collecting fleeting names,
searching for familiarity to stay sane,
falling apart in order to feel whole again
